When investigating the potential of producing a reference standard product Kennerton Audio, envisaged the perfect headphone as an infusion of dynamic speaker and electrostatic technologies combined into one. Combining the very open, airy and extremely detailed sound of an electrostatic driver, coupled with the power and impact of dynamic transducers. This enabled Kennerton to achieve a sound that's both natural and engaging.

Observing the current market trends to understand what their competitors have been producing in the last couple of years. Kennerton Audio were surprised to find that even the most recent planar magnetic headphones all shared the same design principle also shared the same flaws indicative of this dated concept, this indicated to Kennerton that the 35-year old planar magnetic technology hadn't evolved with time.

In view of this situation Kennerton decided that a totally fresh approach was needed to obtain the desired sonic goals which had been set. One of the key aspects they were keen to address was to minimize internal structure resonances and optimize sound wave patterns, in order to create a clear, low-distortion sound frequency.

To achieve this, they created several patent-pending core innovations. Kennerton created new prototype drivers that encapsulated having a magnetic structure that was designed to eliminate both unwanted resonances, and unify magnetic field distribution over the total frequency range. Kennerton drivers are solely designed and manufacturered in Russia, this involves a facility which also produces ultra high grade components for the aerospace and military industries. Having production at this facility ensures the highest quality and durability of their headphones.

Kennerton ear pieces undergo the same rigorous processes as their planer drivers do from the modelling and machining to the drying and coating methods which have antibacterial substances making the cups pleasant to look at and resistant against environmental factors. Including a hot bees wax treatment which incorporates many careful drying stages. Final stages include thorough polishing of the cup, laser engraving of the logo and other elements as per the design. In some cases, patina forming treatment is applied for a decorative finish that makes the surface look perfect.
